Dear Principal,
RE: CS FIRST CLUBS IN KENYA
Computer Science First: An Overview
CS First (cs-first.com) is a Google program created by educators and computer scientists that introduces coding and
computer science to students in a collaborative and creative club environment. CS First club members build projects
in Scratch (scratch.mit.edu), a blocks-based programming language. Globally, more than 2,000,000 learners have
experienced CS First.
About Computer Science Education Week
Computer Science Education Week is an annual call to action to inspire children to learn computer science, advocate
for equity, and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field. This year, both #CSEdWeek
and the Hour of Code activities will align with the theme #CSEverywhere. This theme highlights the impact that
computer science is making everywhere and the relationship that computer science has to different subjects, industries,
career paths, and our everyday lives.
For Computer Science Education Week 2021 (December 2021), Google has partnered with Eveminet
